Hazen girls took a regional victory and a non-counter loss during the team’s week of away games.
The Bison battled Linton/ Hazelton-Moffit-Braddock on the road Friday, with the girls getting a slow start but picking up speed as the game progressed.
Hazen lagged behind 6-15 at the end of the first but had made up the distance by half time, closing the game at 18-19.
The Lions couldn’t shake off the Bison in the third and Hazen pulled a point ahead to take a 30-29 lead going into the fourth.
Linton/HMB would tie things up at 39-39 before the Bison took a 41-39 lead with two minutes on the clock. The Lions closed the lead to 41-40 on a free throw before reclaiming the lead on a two pointer and topping off their win with one more field goal.

Next up for the Bison was a road game at Glen Ullin on Monday, when Hazen would get a chance to start the week on a win.
The Bison had a steady start against their Region 7 opponents, taking a twopoint lead after the first quarter. The Bearcats would reclaim the advantage and take a 31-30 lead into half time.
Hazen came out of the locker room determined to bring home a win and unloaded 23 points on Glen Ullin in the third quarter, securing a 10-point lead with one period remaining.
The Bison led by 17 with five minutes on the clock when Glen Ullin pushed back with a pair of threes and some extra points, pushing the Bearcats back up the scoreboard.
Hazen fought back with shots from the post, keeping a hold on the game and finally taking a 73-68 win.

Hazen girls were set to host Killdeer on Tuesday and have a few days off from competition before hosting Mott on Monday at 6 p.m.
