After a competitive series of races during the annual Cub Scouts

In addition to racing, each kid’s handcrafted derby car could be voted on for the Best in Show and People’s Choice awards. Colt Scheid and Maxwell Eid (at left) tied for the People’s Choice Award at this year’s Derby, while Walter Volk won the Best in Show trophy. Photo By Daniel Arens
There were a total of 17 Hazen Cub Scouts who raced at this year’s Pinewood Derby, held at Hazen City Hall last Tuesday. While results were tallied, Cub Scouts had the chance to race their parents, grandparents and other family members during some fun rounds. The Scouts celebrated together each time one of their cars was victorious in one of these family races. Photo By Daniel Arens
